Major laboratories covering joint disciplines in Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone have made some notable achievements recently.

Fifteen enterprises recommended by Hefei high-tech zone, located in the provincial capital of Anhui, were approved as the first batch of jointly built key laboratories in the province on March 1, accounting for 31.25 percent of the 48 enterprises that fall in this category in Anhui.

Six enterprises in the zone were also selected as the first batch of jointly built key laboratories (to be built) in the province, accounting for 46.2 percent of those in Hefei city.

These laboratories will be built by enterprises and universities, in a bid to strengthen organized scientific research of the province's enterprises, universities and institutions, as well as new R&D institutions. They are expected to contribute to Anhui's plan to become a mecca for sci-tech innovation.

Moving forwards, plans are afoot for Hefei high-tech zone's science and technology bureau to help more high-quality enterprises obtain provincial resources, while helping enterprises to advance further in terms of their scientific and technological innovation.
