Photovoltaics companies in Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone saw imports and exports hit $4.17 billion last year, up 29 percent year-on-year.

The comparable overall figure for Hefei high-tech zone was $8.01 billion, marking an annual climb of 10.6 percent.

In recent years, the zone has been extending its PV industry chain in a bid to promote the development of the industry.

Hefei high-tech zone has attracted 51 PV enterprise that are above a designated scale – those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan or more. Many influential companies like Sungrow Power Supply Co Ltd have experienced high-quality development there.

Last year, Hefei high-tech zone's photovoltaic industry achieved an output value of 94.07 billion yuan, up 82 percent year-on-year.

To improve its industrial competitiveness, Hefei high-tech zone has spared no effort in encouraging R&D and technology innovation. To date, the zone owns 683 patents for various inventions, accounting for about 70 percent of those in Anhui.

There are also 14 innovation platforms at a provincial level and above in Heifei high-tech zone, providing a sound environment for talent cultivation and industrial development.
