With the International Women's Day fast approaching, the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone – located in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province – held a commendation meeting on March 4.

It also issued 10 measures to support the development of female scientific and technological talent in the zone, marking it the first industrial park in Hefei to do so.

International Women's Day on March 8 is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

Nearly 200 people attended the conference, including female leaders, women entrepreneurs and women science and technology workers, female representatives of major institutions as well as those in R&D institutions.

Under the measures, Hefei high-tech zone will provide all-round support for female talent in 10 areas. These include the cultivation of female talent, supporting the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements made by women and guiding them to play a role in emerging industries.

Efforts will also be made to optimize the growth environment for women, create a female-friendly working environment and care for their physical and mental health.

Qian Wen, deputy director of the Hefei High-tech Zone administrative committee, extended her greetings and congratulations to the representatives.

Qian called on them to stick to their mission and shoulder their responsibilities with dedication.
