The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone – located in Hefei city, capital of East China's Anhui province – has been beefing up its efforts to construct pocket parks to improve the living and working environment of its residents.
The Hefei high-tech zone took the lead in issuing an action plan to build more urban parks there in 2020. As a result, more and more vacant land in the zone has been purposed for establishing parks and more service facilities have been added to complete them in recent years.

For example, the revamped Shufengwan Park has introduced intelligent cleaning equipment and painted the asphalt pavement as a colorful fitness pathway.
Moving forwards, plans are for the Hefei high-tech zone to add more than six urban parks every year and to achieve 100 percent coverage of a green space in a 500 meters service radius in residential areas by 2035.
