Anhui province's first science and technology business incubator, Hefei High-tech Pioneer Park – based in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone in the province in East China – was home to 828 high-tech enterprises by the end of 2022.

With just 2 percent of the business entities in the Hefei high-tech zone, the park has cultivated two-thirds of the stock market listed enterprises and one-third of the national high-tech enterprises in the zone.

Just as impressive, it has achieved an economic benefit contribution of 26,000 yuan ($3,833) per square meter.

The enterprises in the park added 7,159 new intellectual property rights last year, including 2,650 patents that were granted. What's more, they received 1,081 government funding projects, totaling 178 million yuan.

Some 76 enterprises, six financial cooperation institutions, eight science and technology service institutions as well as seven business mentors in the park received awards at its annual ceremony held on Feb 7.

Moving forwards, plans are for the Hefei High-tech Pioneer Park to develop a higher-level incubation system, promote the commercialization of more scientific and technological achievements and cultivate more high-tech enterprises.
