Hefei group makes quantum computers
In the recently released sci-fi blockbuster The Wandering Earth II that has recorded box office revenue of 2.8 billion yuan ($414.79 million) to date, the highest computing power intelligent quantum computer MOSS – known as "the most valuable prop in the whole scene" – is used throughout the entire film.
In the movie, MOSS can make tens of thousands of engines work together and support a "digital life" plan, which has aroused interest in the science and technologies that appeared in the movie.
In fact, quantum computers are not science fiction. High-tech group Quantum computing enterprise Origin Quantum – based in the Hefei high-tech zone in East China's Anhui province – has developed several Chinese quantum computers and delivered one quantum computer to users in 2021.

The successful delivery of the quantum computer makes China the third country in the world to have the ability to deliver an entire quantum computer. This has once again established China's leading position in the field of international quantum computing research.
