Holiday retail spending booms in Hefei high-tech zone

During the week-long Spring Festival holiday on Jan 21-27, sales from seven key shopping malls in the Hefei high-tech zone – located in Hefei city, capital of East China's Anhui province – jumped 12.05 percent year-on-year to reach 63.81 million yuan ($9.45 million).
The malls achieved a passenger flow of 400,000 people – an increase of 10.15 percent year-on-year – during the first Spring Festival holiday since the country optimized its COVID-19 response.

The core business district, key commercial retail complexes and neighborhoods carried out on-site and online promotional activities to generate more sizzling celebration vibes.

Intelligent speech and AI technology company iFLYTEK, for one, launched various promotional activities in more than 40 stores nationwide and saw a 42.7 percent year-on-year increase in sales during the break.
