Hefei high-tech zone releases business innovations plan
The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, or Hefei high-tech zone – located in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province – recently released a blueprint designed to boost the capabilities of its resident companies to innovate.
The initiative – called the Double Five, Double Ten Enterprise Cultivation Work Plan – was unveiled on Dec 29.
The terms "Double Five" and "Double Ten" refer to enterprises with annual revenue of over 500 million yuan ($72.63 million) and R&D investment of more than 5 percent – and those with annual revenue of over 1 billion yuan and R&D investment of more than 10 percent.
Under the plan, the zone will have actively cultivate five Double Ten enterprises and 30 Double Five enterprises by 2025.
These enterprises are expected to play a leading role in its development and develop more than 1,000 cutting edge and disruptive new technologies by 2025.
They will also be able to lead and drive upstream and downstream enterprises in their industry supply chains and strengthen industry-university-research cooperation, so as to achieve integrated and innovative development.
A group of qualified enterprises will be selected every year to be included in a cultivation database and resources will be given to them.
For example, 30 percent of the scientific research fund will be given to companies that carry out technology and product R&D projects with universities and institutions.
