East China's Anhui held the final round and awards ceremony for the third Anhui Medical Devices Innovation Competition at Zhong'an Chuanggu Technology Park in the Hefei high-tech zone on December 12.

Since the competition was launched, many high-quality medical device projects from inside and outside the province have applied to join.

After a preliminary selection process by the organizing committee, 64 projects from all over the world were named to participate in the competition. The total number of projects and participants increased by 80 percent from the previous edition, including 14 projects from outside the province.

The competition has become an influential event in terms of spreading and promoting innovative ideas and methods related to medical devices.

Winners are eligible for prizes and financial support. The organizing committee will recommend projects that make the finals for investment from financial institutions, while offering policy support to those that plan to settle in Anhui.

To date, Hefei high-tech zone has gathered over 500 medical and health enterprises, with a production and sales scale exceeding 55 billion yuan ($7.91 billion).
