Self-driving tech startup Yunchuang Zhixing Tech Co Ltd signed up on Nov 26 to settle its headquarters in the Hefei High-tech Zone – located in Hefei city, capital of East China's Anhui province.

Yunchuang Zhixing Tech is a high-tech enterprise integrating R&D, production, sales and the operation of driverless sanitation vehicles. It has received tens of millions of yuan in investment from well-known industrial venture capital institutions such as NIO Capital and Baidu Venture.

Plans are for it to build a national operations headquarters and research and development center in Hefei High-tech Zone, which will provide smart city solutions by solving problems in the sanitation industry, based on technologies including 5G, AI and the internet of things.

In December last year, Hefei received approval to become a national pilot city for the coordinated development of smart city infrastructure and intelligent and connected vehicles. This was welcomed as an invaluable and historical opportunity for the accelerated development of the intelligent and connected vehicles industry.

Relying on the China (Anhui) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the Hefei high-tech zone has carried out pilot trials and explored the opening of road rights and various scenario applications for intelligent unmanned vehicles.

The settlement of Yunchuang Zhixing Tech is seen as being of great significance for Hefei to become a new energy vehicles and intelligent connected vehicles hub in the country.
