Hefei high-tech zone upgrades policy to spur innovation

Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone in Hefei, capital of Anhui province, officially issued a policy on Nov 5 to further support scientific and technological innovation for building a world-leading sci-tech park.
Focusing on platform, talent, transformation, technology, incubation, enterprise, finance, scenario and service, the policy sets out 16 detailed measures in nine aspects, including supporting the construction of innovation platforms, promoting the transformation of sci-tech achievements, and strengthening full-life cycle services.
Key measures include providing funds of up to 50 million yuan ($6.9 million) to newly-recognized research and development institutions, and a subsidy of 1 million yuan to enterprises who recruited urgently-needed talents from around the world for key technical positions.
In addition, a maximum annual subsidy of 1 million yuan will be provided for enterprises who increase their scientific research investment, and teaching and research personnel can receive a maximum reward of 500,000 yuan for starting a business.
In order to encourage more breakthroughs in key and core technologies in major industrial fields, relevant projects can receive financial support of up to 5 million yuan.
