​5th World Voice Expo opens in Hefei

The fifth World Voice Expo and 2022 iFlytek Global 1024 Developer Festival featuring various online and offline activities opened on Oct 24 in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province, providing an exchange platform for companies and developers specializing in artificial intelligence (AI).

The event is mainly organized by iFlytek, an AI and speech technology giant based in Anhui. It aims to bring resources and personnel in the AI field together to further boost the development of the AI industry.

During the event, activities such as product-launch conferences, industry summits and AI developer contests will be held and cutting-edge AI products with be displayed. They cover AI-related fields, which include the industrial internet, the metaverse and enterprise digitalization, and involve industries including energy, agriculture, tourism, finance, and environmental protection.

Academic experts, entrepreneurial leaders, industry partners and ecosystem developers were invited to participate in the event to discuss the industrial ecology, jointly build new technological boundaries and future scenarios, and promote the vigorous development of the AI industry and the digital economy.

The iFlytek AI Developer Competition, a highlight of the event, included contests revolving around 100 key issues in 10 emerging industries and the metaverse, green food, enterprise digitalization and other fields, aiming to discover and cultivate elite talents in the AI industry and promote the transformation of cutting-edge scientific research and innovation achievements in the field.

More than 5 million developers from home and abroad have joined an open AI innovation platform backed by iFlytek since its launch in 2010, churning out more than 1.56 million applications, which has helped promote the integration of AI and economic development.

The platform was approved by China's Ministry of Science and Technology as one of the first batches of national open platforms for new-generation AI innovation in 2017.

The Global 1024 Developer Festival was launched in 2017 and was combined with the World Voice Expo in 2018 to form a unified event.
