Hefei high-tech zone attracts more aerospace information projects
Twelve aerospace information industry projects with a total investment of 6.08 billion yuan ($893.45 million) were signed to settle in the Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone at the opening ceremony of the 2022 China Geographic Information Industry Conference on Aug 11.
The projects cover the entire aerospace information industry chain ranging from satellite manufacturing and satellite operations to ground equipment and data applications. High-profile projects include satellite technology company Commsat's headquarters project and Beihang Aerospace's headquarters project. They are expected to give a boost to the development of Hefei's aerospace information industry.
In recent years, a slew of large aerospace projects have sprouted up in Hefei, especially in the Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone, and the zone's government has been improving the business environment for aerospace information businesses by increasing policy support.
Over the past year, the zone has attracted 17 aerospace information industry chain projects with a total investment of over 16.7 billion yuan, including GEOVIS Digital Earth Global Headquarters, the GalaxySpace Global Remote Sensing Satellite Industry Base and the PIESAT Satellite Global Operations Center.
Last year, aerospace technology was officially included in Anhui province's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25). By 2025, Hefei's aerospace information industry is expected to be worth 100 billion yuan.
