Hefei high-tech zone's aerospace information industry booms

Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone's aerospace information industry is developing rapidly, with more and more upstream, midstream and downstream enterprises from the industrial chain gathering in the zone, said Zhao Kai, director of the project service department of the zone's investment promotion bureau.
At a conference on the growth of the zone's aerospace information industry on Aug 4, Zhao stated that over the past year, the zone has attracted 17 aerospace information industry chain projects with a total investment of over 16.7 billion yuan ($2.48 billion).
The zone has gathered 53 enterprises and units in the aerospace information industry chain, including 10 scientific research institutes and innovation platforms, with nearly 5,000 employees. A number of other key high-quality projects in the industry are being negotiated and promoted.
According Zhao, the zone's government continues to optimize the business environment, strengthen efforts to attract business, and reinforce and upgrade the industrial chain through measures such as providing expert consultations, increasing policy support, and strengthening financial support, so as to help the aerospace information companies in the zone accelerate their development.
Hu Yu, senior vice-president of Geovis, attended the conference. Geovis, a Chinese leader in the field of digital earth, opened its Digital Earth Global Headquarters in the zone in November 2021 and secured agreements to establish its four subsidiaries in the zone on Feb 28.
Hu said that the company plans to develop online digital earth service products that will have the most users and create the best user experience in China. It is expected to invest about 10 billion yuan in the future, and achieve no less than 200 million registered users by the end of 2028.
