Anhui FTZ records foreign trade growth in H1

The China (Anhui) Pilot Free Trade Zone, or Anhui FTZ, saw its foreign trade increase by 28.5 percent year-on-year to 95.93 billion yuan ($14.22 billion) in the first half of this year, according to a press conference on Aug 3.

Anhui FTZ, which consists of Hefei Area, Wuhu Area and Bengbu Area, contributed to 26.1 percent of Anhui province's foreign trade in the first six months.

The Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone section of the Anhui FTZ Hefei Area reported an eye-catching performance, with the section's actual use of foreign direct investment (FDI) reaching $53.23 million during the period, accounting for nearly 50 percent of Anhui FTZ's total.

From January to June, 2,630 new enterprises were registered in the section. The figure accounted for about one-third of Anhui FTZ's total.

In the first six months, Anhui FTZ created 40 institutional innovation cases, and 10 of them were made by the section.
