The Gaoxin Middle School Attached to USTC (the University of Science and Technology of China) is expected to start classes September.

The school is located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Changjiang West Road and Tianzhu Road in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone in Hefei, East China's Anhui province.

The school intends to set up 54 classes, with a total construction area of 79,000 square meters, and can house about 3,000 teachers and students.

The first thing that comes into view when entering the campus is the new five-story library. On both sides of the campus are two U-shaped classroom buildings, and to the west are a 400-meter standard circular running track and a soccer pitch. The campus is additionally furnished with an activity room, a dance classroom, an outdoor basketball court, an outdoor volleyball court, an indoor basketball court, and an indoor badminton court.

Living accommodations are easily accessible on campus in addition to the complete teaching facilities. A 150-space underground parking lot, a five-story teacher dormitory, and a 600-person capacity canteen have all been constructed.

Photovoltaic power generation solar panels, rainwater recycling systems, and rooftop farms have been added to the buildings to ensure a low-carbon campus. The solar panels on the roof of the teaching buildings utilize photoelectric conversion, the rainwater collection pools can be used for daily garden irrigation and road scouring, and the rooftop farms are both ornamental and educational to provide students with a hands-on learning environment.

The teaching facilities' four-meter-wide hallways guarantee free space for students after class, and to promote natural ventilation and sunlight, large-area glass windows have been installed in the hallways and classrooms.
