Hefei-based quantum technology company CIQTEK and the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) cooperated with the Yinghua Experimental School in Tianjin to open the Quantum Science and Technology Innovation Lab of Yinghua Juvenile Academy of Sciences at the school on June 27.
Equipped with advanced experimental instruments, the lab focuses on offering quantum science and technology-related courses to students, said Chen Ming, deputy general manager of CIQTEK's Quantum Education Division.
In the lab, students will learn about the basics of quantum mechanics and the application of quantum technology in major fields like computing and precision measurement.
Chen cited an example that CIQTEK's Diamond Quantum Computer for Education at the lab will help students better understand the differences between quantum computing and traditional computing.
In this way, the lab will contribute to stimulating students' curiosity and imagination, enhance their interest in physics and quantum technology, and cultivate their innovative awareness and abilities, Chen added.
Chen also said the lab is expected to play an exemplary role in cultivating quantum science and technology talents at the high school level in China, and help create a talent pool for the future development of quantum science and technology.
In addition, cooperation with Hefei schools to implement the "lab + courses" concept is currently being discussed.
