Haichuang Center attracts more overseas-educated Chinese scholars

The Yangtze River Delta (YRD) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center of China Western Returned Scholars Association, or Haichuang Center, has attracted an increasing number of young overseas-educated Chinese scholars to start businesses in the YRD region, according to a report by People's Daily.

Ding Guoliang, a graduate from the University of Wisconsin, founded his company in Anhui province with the help of the center. He said the center provides a high-quality entrepreneurial environment for his team to carry out technological research, develop and innovate. Ding's company is committed to developing intelligent parking systems, which have been applied in many places in Anhui province.

According to statistics, the center is currently housing 29 high-tech industry projects, more than 120 high-level talents, over 500 valid intellectual property rights, and a reserve of more than 100 projects.

Haichuang Center is an innovation and entrepreneurship service center for Chinese returnees in the YRD region, which consists of the metropolis of Shanghai and the provinces of Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui.

The Western Returned Scholars Associations pool their resources and provide various services such as policy interpretations, and investment and financing docking, as well as professional guidance for startups.

Established on Oct 21, 2020, the center is located in Zhongan Chuanggu Technology Park in Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, Hefei, capital of Anhui province.
