Due to its well-performing multilingual speech technologies, iFlytek took the title in three tasks at the 16th International Workshop on Semantic Evaluation (SemEval 2022).

iFlytek competed against leading research institutions and teams from around the world including Dartmouth College, the University of Sheffield, Huawei, and Alibaba Dharma Academy at the event.

It won three tasks, namely Task 8: Multilingual News Article Similarity, Task 2 Subtask A one-Shot: Multilingual Idiomaticity Detection and Sentence Embedding, and Task 11: Multilingual Complex Named Entity Recognition (MultiCoNER).

The event was hosted by SIGLEX, the Special Interest Group on the Lexicon of the Association for Computational Linguistics.

iFlytek is a front-runner in the intelligent speech and artificial intelligence industry and is based in Hefei, capital of Anhui province.

The company has already developed speech recognition for 71 different languages, with at least half of them reaching 90 percent accuracy. Its technologies have also been deployed overseas to deliver services such as speech recognition, speech synthesis, machine translation, and image recognition to more developers.
