Hefei-based quantum precision measurement technology company CIQTEK and the Shenzhen Innovation Academy of the National Institute of Metrology of China signed a cooperation agreement on May 18 to build a joint laboratory for the industrialization of quantum metrology instruments.

The laboratory is expected to become a world-class quantum metrology research institution, produce first-class quantum metrology research results, and promote the high-quality and high-level innovative development of the quantum metrology industry.

With quantum precision measurement technology as its core, the laboratory plans to help enterprises tackle key technical problems, develop innovations in advanced quantum metrology instruments, and meet the demand of markets and enterprises for high-end metrology.

The laboratory will carry on research and development of new-generation microwave quantum precision measurement instruments, and will promote the application of microwave quantum sensing and detection engineering products.

He Yu, chairman of CIQTEK, said that CIQTEK will give full play to its advantages in quantum precision measurement technology and work closely with the Shenzhen Innovation Academy to jointly develop quantum metrology technology.

In Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, the company is also building CIQTEK Valley, which focuses on the industrialization of high-end scientific instruments by using its advanced quantum precision measurement technology.

According to a plan released by the State Council, China will push forward its development in metrology from 2021 to 2035 and a national modern and advanced metrological system with quantum metrology at its core will be established.
