Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province, responded to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursued economic and social development in a well-coordinated way.

Amid the epidemic, the zone's investment promotion bureau moved many negotiation and signing events online by making full use of online platforms. From January to March, more than 70 projects were signed, with a contracted investment of 38.57 billion yuan ($6.06 billion), ranking among the top in Hefei.

Strict epidemic prevention and control measures were implemented in enterprises and construction sites in the zone and three work groups were set up to assist key enterprises.

The zone's government officials asked enterprises about difficulties they encountered and helped by providing epidemic prevention supplies and solving labor shortages and facilitated foreign personnel entering the country.

An intelligent management platform was also used in the zone to tighten up epidemic control regulations in the construction industry and intensify efforts to maintain stable progress of construction projects.
