The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, which is located in Hefei, East China's Anhui province, set up a scientific and technological innovation alliance aimed at supporting female talents and entrepreneurs on March 3.

The alliance was launched during the commendation ceremony, which marks the 112th International Women's Day, which falls on March 8. It is the first alliance of this kind in Anhui province.

Launched by the Women's Federation of Hefei high-tech zone, the alliance consists of local government departments, scientific research institutes, social organizations, financial institutions, female entrepreneurs and female sci-tech talents.

Yao Yun, head of the female entrepreneurs association of Hefei high-tech zone, said she believed that with joint support from the alliance members, females will play a greater role in sci-tech innovation.

Liu Ping, head of the Women's Federation of Anhui, said that the alliance should connect members to discover female talents and promote the commercialization of sci-tech achievements. She also encouraged females to participate in communication activities held by the alliance and called on Hefei high-tech zone to roll out more policies to support female sci-tech talents.

On the same day, a meeting to help female entrepreneurs solve problems was also held. Twenty female entrepreneurs attended the meeting with local government officials. They expressed their opinions and discussed difficulties in innovation and entrepreneurship and the officials introduced local preferential policies and responded to their concerns.
