China's first quantum security smart community system was recently put into use in three neighborhoods in Hefei, capital of Anhui province.

Residents' personal information, such as their face, license plate number, and entry and exit records, are protected by the system, which meets the needs of creating a smart and safe community.

Anhui Huadian Big Data, a technological company based in Hefei, built the system by combining quantum secure communication technology with data storage and transmission technology.

"Compared with traditional data encryption methods, quantum encryption can be applied to the full-life-circle security management and control of data from data production and storage to transmission, so that it can protect the personal data and information security of residents from the root," said Tian Baotong, general manager of the company.
