Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone's business environment index has been increasing steadily for three consecutive years, reaching 90.6 points in 2021, according to a report unveiled at a press conference Jan 4.
The report was compiled by the business school of Anhui University, which evaluated the zone's business environment in terms of government services, cost factors, living facilities, opening-up, innovation, entrepreneurship, rule of law, and civility.
The final score was calculated based on a survey of the overall satisfaction of how different types of enterprises in the zone feel toward the aforementioned indicators. The results showed a score of 90.6 points (with the full score being 100 points), which sits somewhere between "satisfied" and "very satisfied,” and marks an increase of 1.75 percent from the score in 2020.
The zone is the first development zone in China that has made this type of annual business environment index report. Fang Xiangmin, deputy director of the zone's management committee, said that the report, which has been created for three years, reflected progress in local efforts to improve the business environment and has helped the local government to better understand enterprises' concerns.
According to Fang, the zone launched a series of innovative measures and campaigns to solve real issues and promote project construction in a bid to help enterprises overcome developmental difficulties in 2021.
