Construction of the Hefei Meteorological Monitoring and Early Warning and Scientific Research Center (Hefei Meteorological Science and Technology Innovation Park) began on Dec 22.

It is planned to become operational in November 2023. Its main functions include weather monitoring and early storm warnings, public weather services, popular science education, and scientific research experiments.

The project is located at the southwest corner of the intersection of Shigudun South Branch Road and Jimingshan West Road in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone.

The construction area is about 15,662 square meters, of which 13,300 sq m are above ground and about 2,362 sq m are underground. The building will be designed into a "L" shape. The main building has eight floors above ground, the skirt building has four floors above ground, and the basement has one floor.
