A number of overseas universities have adopted the diamond quantum computer from Hefei-based quantum technology company CIQTEK this year, marking China's advancement in the industrial application of quantum technology.
The popular product independently developed and produced by CIQTEK serves as a useful scientific instrument in the teaching of quantum computing, which will help alleviate the talent shortage in the cutting-edge field of quantum information technology.
Based on the spin magnetic resonance of the nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center in diamond, it implements quantum manipulation and readouts of NV center spins, which enables the demonstration of basic concepts of quantum computing, such as qubits, quantum gates and quantum algorithms.
It can be used to carry out quantum mechanics and quantum computing experimental courses, modern physics experiment teaching and NV center scientific research. The desktop design makes it easily adaptable to classrooms, laboratories and other environments.
In September, the State University of New York at Stony Brook received a diamond quantum computer for education after placing an order in March. "Quantum computing is the most important course of the Quantum Information Center. To enable students to better understand and experience quantum computing, we plan to use the product to provide them with quantum computing experimental courses," said Eden Figueroa, director of the Quantum Information Center of the university.
In August, the University of Queensland in Australia purchased the product for its quantum education program. Combined with existing quantum mechanics and quantum computing theory courses, it will be used for quantum talent training and the basic teaching of quantum computing at the university.

Macquarie University in Australia also placed a purchase order with CIQTEK. Thomas Volz of Macquarie University said, "We will offer a theoretical course on quantum computing in the first semester of 2022. The quantum computing experiment course submitted by several teachers who study diamond NV centers has also been approved. The purchase is in line with the university's long-term goal of building a quantum center, and at the same time meets normal teaching needs."
Other famous universities such as Notre Dame University in the United States and Sharjah University in the United Arab Emirates have also planned to cooperate with CIQTEK.
In addition, nearly 100 well-known universities and top middle schools in China have used the product to carry out experimental teaching courses.
Located in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, CIQTEK is a manufacturer and provider of quantum precision measurement products that can be applied in a wide range of fields. Its products have been sold to hundreds of universities, companies and hospitals all over the world. In addition to the diamond quantum computer for education, CIQTEK's other high-end scientific instruments have also entered the international market.
