Hefei Ion Medical Center wins Luban Prize

Hefei Ion Medical Center, an international cancer treatment center, recently won the Luban Prize, a major construction and engineering quality award in China.
The center, which covers a land area of 46,241 square meters and a floor area of 33,345 sq m, is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Changning Avenue and Yanzihe Road in Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone.
It was co-founded by the Hefei Municipal Government and the Hefei Institute of Physical Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and built by the China Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau.
The center includes three full gantry treatment rooms, one fixed beam treatment room and one research room, as well as state-of-the-art medical equipment, offering advanced treatment technologies for proton and photon therapies.
To date, 29 projects in Hefei have won the Luban Prize, which was established in 1987 and is known as the Oscar of the construction industry in China.
