Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province, plans to build a minimum of 20 international communities by the end of 2025.
The organizational mechanism, service system, and environmental facilities of the communities will meet international standards, while people of all cultures and nationalities will be welcome.
Hefei has seen an increasing inflow of expats in recent years. It has been listed among the top 10 most attractive Chinese cities to foreigners for three consecutive years.
The city currently has a demonstration international community, Linxi community, located in Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone.
Linxi community has a service station for overseas personnel, while its community workers are trained to provide bilingual services and learn cross-cultural communication skills. Public signs in the community are also in both Chinese and English.
The community also helps connect expats who want to start up businesses with related local organizations. It also hosts a variety of cultural activities to enrich their lives and increase their list of contacts.
