Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province, recently made the annual list of the top 100 global dynamic cities for the first time, local media reported.
It was ranked 91th in the world and 17th among cities in the Chinese mainland, with the top three being Tokyo in Japan and Shanghai and Beijing in China.
Cities on the list were ranked by their vitality in the global value chain according to an evaluation based on three synergistic networks - innovation, production and services, and facility connectivity.
With its advantages in humanities, location, transportation, ecology, and science and technology sectors, Hefei shows great potential and is expected to develop to a higher level with an eye on advanced international cities.
The list was unveiled in the 2021 Annual Report on Global Cities in the Vision of the Belt and Road Initiative by the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design.
The report evaluated 513 cities across the world this year, including cities or national capitals with a population of over 1 million, global innovative cities, and cities with active international presence in the fields of politics, transportation, business and people-to-people exchanges.
