Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province, is planning to build the Hefei Future Sci-Tech City as a new center of the city that focuses on future industries.

The Hefei Future Sci-Tech City will occupy about 64 square kilometers in the Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone, according to the plan.

The project recently issued a call for bids for the comprehensive planning and systematic design to experienced design agencies at home and abroad.

Positioned as a demonstration area for high-quality development, the Hefei Future Sci-Tech City is expected to become an important scientific and technological innovation center, a pioneer in developing a characteristic industrial layout and an innovative economic system, and a model for ecological environment rehabilitation and protection.

Public facilities for the project are required to be built to high standards to create an international image of a sci-tech gateway. The plan has an emphasis on livable environment, high-quality cultural and commercial facilities and convenient transportation network.
