Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province, is developing into a high-tech talent pool by implementing an array of favorable policies, according to a local news report.
Lu Xiaoming, who grew up in Shandong, studied in Jiangsu, and continued his studies abroad, returned to China at the age of 63 and now works at the Hefei Ion Medical Center, which provides high-energy proton and heavy-ion radiotherapy for cancer patients. As a Comprehensive National Science Center, the Hefei Ion Medical Center provides a strong platform for scientific research and will attract more high-end talent from across the world, according to Lu.
Hefei is currently stepping up efforts to set up a variety of scientific research platforms, which will provide talent with a fairer and more sustainable environment that promotes higher quality and more efficient development. The city has also taken measures to encourage scientific talent to engage in major national programs and conduct research in an effort to unleash innovation among young people.
Since 2020, Hefei has issued dozens of policy documents to stabilize employment and ensure a good work environment for staff. The Hefei government also encourages local enterprises to offer bonuses and subsidies to outstanding talent.
A special service system was also set up online to help employees. It can handle more than 50 important issues related to talent and enable online access to government information and public services via a single website.
