Twenty-two projects in the new energy, energy conservation and environmental protection industries were signed in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone on Oct 25.

The industries are among the key focuses in Hefei, capital of Anhui province, and the signing of the projects was in response to the country's call to achieve carbon neutrality.

With a total investment of 5 billion yuan ($783 million), the projects are of high quality and boast great market potential. They include a comprehensive energy investment transaction platform, a water environment advanced equipment manufacturing base, and a urea project dealing with emissions from cars.

They are expected to help solve current challenges facing the industries in China and provide a boost to the growth of such industries in Anhui.

The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone has been a leader in the development of the energy conservation and environmental protection industry in Hefei. A complete industrial chain has formed there, and the number of enterprises in the field in the zone ranks highly in Anhui. Many of them boast independent core technologies.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, the zone plans to bolster the future energy and future environment industries and build its international environmental protection technology park and zero-carbon technology industrial park to high standards.
