The first environmental protection special incubator in Anhui province was unveiled in the Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone on Oct 11.

The incubator will serve China's carbon peak and neutrality goals.

The establishment of the incubator is in line with the global low-carbon development trend and will give a big boost to the growth of regional environmental protection industry, said Liu Dengyin, deputy director of the management committee of the zone.

Liu added that the special incubator is the future of the incubator and environmental protection industry, and is important for the transformation of economic growth model.

Hefei Gaochuang Co and Anhui Environmental Technology signed an agreement to cooperate in the building of the incubator.

The incubator is capable of serving more than 50 start-ups. The operator of the incubator is also planning to set up an accelerator which is expected to house around 20 environmental protection enterprises.

In the next three years, the incubator is aiming to incubate one or two environmental protection enterprises that can meet the standards of going public, and will strive to become a national-level special incubator.
