China-Russia sci-tech cooperation meeting held in Hefei via video

The 25th Regular Meeting of the Science and Technology Cooperation Subcommittee of the China-Russia Prime Ministers' Regular Meeting Committee was held via video link in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province, on Sept 17.
The meeting was co-chaired by Huang Wei, vice minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and Natalia Bocharova, vice minister of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and was attended by representatives of the science, technology, and diplomacy departments of the two countries.
The two sides discussed issues related to science and technology cooperation, including China-Russia science and technology innovation policies, the 2020-21 China-Russia Year of Scientific and Technological Innovation, cooperation under the framework of large scientific installations, joint research and development projects, China-Russia exhibition activities, and expanding promising areas of cooperation.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the signing of the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation, which was officially extended on June 28, Huang said, adding that the joint efforts from both sides to promote the 2020-21 China-Russia Year of Scientific and Technological Innovation had yielded positive results, bringing new impetus to the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era.
After the meeting, the two sides signed an agreement on the 25th regular meeting according to which the 26th regular meeting is expected to be held in Russia in 2022.
