Dong Ning, who graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China, is the general manager of Hefei I-TEK OptoElectronics Co Ltd, which is based in Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone in Hefei, capital of Anhui province.

Dong established the company in 2011 and pioneered a new field of AI in China based on machine vision.

Unlike human vision, machine vision can achieve high precision, non-contact detection, and smart control characteristics. It is widely used in automated production. The industrial camera is one of the most important parts of machine vision.

In 2012, the company managed to develop a type of industrial camera that can be a substitute for overseas products. Since then, Dong's team has made a number of breakthroughs in the industry, winning national and provincial financial support for their innovations.

Dong is planning to carry out R&D of high-speed placement machines used in industrial camera production to further tackle technical bottlenecks in the field in China.
