A total of 518,919 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province, as of Sept 1, data from local government showed.

Under the joint efforts of medical workers, volunteers, officials, and local residents, the zone has surpassed its vaccination targets and was thus commended by the city's epidemic prevention and control headquarters on Sept 1.

In order to ramp up vaccine coverage, the zone has set up 12 vaccination sites and sent out two mobile vaccination vehicles, as well as recruited more than 300 medical workers from community health centers and medical institutions to serve as vaccination frontline workers.
