Hefei among top 10 Chinese cities by AI innovation power

Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province, has been ranked fourth among the top 10 Chinese cities by AI innovation power, following Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai, according to a list by AI Open Index.
The 10 Chinese cities were included in the list for the top 100 world cities for AI innovation power which was released during China's annual meeting for artificial intelligence in Jiangsu province.
China's applications that have been filed as patents in the AI field in the past 10 years reached 389,571, accounting for 74.7 percent of the world's total, and top the ranking by country, according to China AI Development Report for 2020 released at the meeting.
Hefei is home to China's first national-level industrial park in the AI field -- China Speech Valley, which is located in Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, a Silicon Valley-like industrial zone in the city where China's leading AI companies such as iFLYTEK and Huami are driving the robust development of local AI industry.
