The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone in Hefei, capital of Anhui province, currently boasts over 8,500 valid patents for inventions, nearly 3,000 of which are high-value patents, local media reported.

In the first quarter of 2021, the zone saw a significant increase in the number of patents as it reported 2,598 new patents and 529 of them are for inventions. Its high-value patent ownership per 10,000 people now ranks high in China.

The zone's intellectual properties excel in both quantity and quality. In recent years, enterprises in the zone have won a number of important awards for their patents at regional, national and international invention events.

The zone has also launched a series of activities to help local entrepreneurs learn about the application and protection of intellectual properties.
