The Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province, clinched 28 awards at the 2020 Anhui Science and Technology Awards Conference on April 12.

Projects from enterprises in the zone received eight first prizes, three more than last year and the most in Hefei city, seven second prizes and 13 third prizes.

The annual conference recognizes outstanding achievements in science and technology in Anhui province and encourages scientists and enterprises to improve.

The zone's awards mainly recognized achievements in fields including information intelligence, biomedicine, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy and new materials.

Authorities of the zone will give cash awards to the first prize winners and continue to hold trainings for local enterprises on how to apply for such important sci-tech awards.
