Hefei-based Origin Quantum and Nexchip Semiconductor Corporation signed an agreement to establish a joint quantum computing chip laboratory in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone on April 2.

The two companies are leaders in the field of quantum computing and chip processing, respectively, and their cooperation is expected to boost the quantum computing chip manufacturing sector in China.

The lab will be involved in the development and engineering of wafer validation in the field of extremely low temperature integrated circuits, and will develop an entire industrial chain including everything from chip design to packaging and testing.
