A total of 58 projects worth 34 billion yuan ($5.25 billion) were set to put into operation at a commencement ceremony in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone on Feb 18.

The projects include 41 industrial projects and 17 government-invested ones that focus on fields such as science and technology innovation, industrial development and infrastructure.

In addition, the CAS (Hefei) Institute of Technology Innovation announced the commencement of the Phase II construction of the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone. The institute has made many sci-tech achievements and a slew of multiple high-tech enterprises.
