Hefei High-tech International Environmental Protection Science and Technology Park was launched at Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone, Anhui province on Feb 2.

As the first national eco-industrial demonstration park in Anhui province, Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone built the Hefei Environmental Protection Industrial Park in 2015.

Currently, the zone is home to over 300 environmental protection enterprises, covering all aspects of the industrial chain, such as technological research and development, equipment manufacturing, environmental governance, as well as technology services.

Among them, three enterprises have been listed on domestic markets, including CECEP Guozhen Environmental Technology Co Ltd, East China Engineering Science and Technology Co Ltd, as well as Anhui Wanyi Science and Technology Co Ltd. Sixty-eight enterprises have also been approved as high-tech companies.

In 2020, the environmental protection industrial output value of the zone is expected to reach 15 billion yuan ($2.3 billion), according to officials.

In addition, the management committee of the zone released 18 measures spanning four categories to guide and promote further development of the environmental protection industry, including supporting the landing of major projects, as well as encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship.

Officials said that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone will strive to pilot the development of innovative technologies in the environmental field focusing on water and soil pollution prevention and control, pollution reduction and carbon reduction, as well as biodiversity protection.
