Whirlpool's smart dishwasher factory begins operating in Hefei

Home appliance maker Whirlpool's Aurora smart dishwasher factory officially began operating at Nangang Science Park in Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone on Nov 18.
The smart factory, built to world-class manufacturing standards, boasts intelligent equipment, industrial robots, and an advanced logistics system. It is expected to help Hefei become a world-class center for the home appliance industry.
Wu Shengbo, president of Whirlpool (China), said that in the Chinese market, Whirlpool has been striving to build Hefei into a key part of its global supply chain. "We formulated a long-term plan for our kitchen appliance business in China a few years ago. This smart dishwasher factory is also a milestone for Whirlpool (China) in its quest to develop kitchen appliances."
The dishwasher produced at the factory will have a height of 775mm and a capacity of 15 sets of tableware, making it suitable for most Chinese cabinets and for holding tableware for the whole family. It is capable of washing a large amount of dishes both quickly and thoroughly.
