Enterprises in Hefei National High-tech Industrial Development Zone are at the forefront of research and development in the field of quantum science and technology in China.
The development of quantum science and technology has the potential to significantly impact and restructure the traditional technological system and will lead a new round of sci-tech revolution and industrial transformation, officials said.
Over 20 related enterprises are now located at Yunfei Road, including QuantumCTek Co, Origin Quantum, and Chinainstru & Quantumtech (Hefei) Co Ltd.
QuantumCTek Co, established in 2009, is mainly engaged in the research and development of quantum communication products and technical services. Zhang Rutong, director of the company's quantum solutions, said that the company will "enable quantum security" in more fields such as the internet of things, big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and 5G in the future.
In September, Origin Quantum opened up its independently-developed superconducting quantum computing cloud platform to global users. The platform is based on a superconducting quantum computer -- Wuyuan, which allows users to transfer the compiled quantum program to the back-end for calculation and processing and quickly obtain results.
Zhan Hui, deputy chairman of Origin Quantum, said that quantum algorithms are the first which can be applied in complex computing fields such as finance, biomedicine, and artificial intelligence.
In the lab operated by Chinainstru & Quantumtech (Hefei) Co Ltd, a quantum diamond atomic force microscope which aims the measurement object at the magnetic field is displayed. It is able to accurately magnify by a factor of 100,000, which can not only give the topography and structure of ferritin like an ultra-fine version of CT, but also leave a clear "portrait" of magnetic field distribution.
He Yu of Chinainstru & Quantumtech (Hefei) Co Ltd noted that quantum can achieve higher resolution and higher sensitivity measurements and sensing and bring great improvements to the advanced instrument industry.
Cheng Yu, deputy director of the zone's science and technology bureau, said that Anhui province established a quantum industry fund with a total scale of 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) for related enterprise in 2017 and will provide comprehensive support for quantum projects.
