Huami Corp, a US-listed maker of smart wearables, launched its global innovation center at the Anhui Zhong'an Chuanggu Technology Park in the Hefei National High-tech Industrial Development Zone on Nov 8.

The newly-opened center started construction last January and was one of the first companies to set up operations in the Anhui Zhong'an Chuanggu Technology Park.

The center will work to develop new technologies, incubate new products, and form new businesses. It will focus on the research and development of chips and sensors, smart watch operating systems, new artificial intelligence technology, and new products.

The center is expected to develop a world-leading smart wearable industrial base in Anhui by gathering high-end talent, commercial resources, and global funds.

Lyu Changfu, deputy director of the zone's administrative committee, said that the Hefei National High-tech Industrial Development Zone will work on the development of smart wearable and related industries with the help of leading companies such as Huami.

Huami Corp, established in 2013, is a cloud-based health service provider with the world's most advanced smart wearable technology. In February 2018, Huami Corp was listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), becoming the first Anhui company to be listed in the United States.

The Anhui Zhong'an Chuanggu Technology Park has attracted about 100 high-quality high-tech enterprises since it started operating in 2019, including Huami Corp, Venustech, and China Standard Intelligent Security.
