Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone released Oct 29 an implementation plan to participate fully in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The plan said that Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone will integrate into the global innovation system, improve international competitiveness, realize transformation from self-development to integrated use of global innovation resources, and strive to promote the high-quality development of the zone.

The plan will support the implementation details of the relevant policy provisions to develop the zone into a world-class high-tech park. It will provide greater and wider subsidies to support enterprises to make direct investment overseas, expand exports, establish overseas institutions, undertake overseas technology transfers, and strengthen the overseas distribution of intellectual property rights.

The final of the third Qiaomengyuan Overseas Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition also took place on Oct 29.

A total of 27 projects from 21 countries worldwide took part in the competition via the internet.

Eight projects from North America, Europe and East Asia competed in the final. Their projects covered emerging industries such as artificial intelligence and biomedicine.
