The Institute of Advance Technology of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) welcomed new graduate students on Sept 8.

This year, the institute was officially designated as an admission unit of USTC for those wishing to pursue a professional master's or PhD degree.

The institute carries out recruitment and training in three major categories: biology and medicine, materials and chemical engineering, and electronic information.

Students will focus on theory in the first year and begin practicing in their second year.

The institute has been helping USTC teachers and students to carry out scientific and technological research projects and helping them make proper use of their research finding through cooperation with tech enterprises.

Students can take direct buses between the main campus of USTC in Baohe district and the institute in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone.
