The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone signed a contract with commercial retail company BAIDA Group on July 8 to improve living conditions in the zone, officials said.

Under the plan, BAIDA Group will build a number of commercial buildings and food markets in the zone in the near future.

BAIDA Group is mainly engaged in the operation of department stores and the retailing of commodities and Liu Hao, its president, said his company was active in Anhui province and it would help address shortfalls in consumer services in the zone by improving the facilities there.

Song Daojun, deputy director of the management committee of the zone, said a modern services industry was a key area for the zone to promote its high-quality economic development.

Song said the zone would provide efficient service to ensure the implementation of the BAIDA projects in the zone.
