The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone recently issued new policies to support high-quality industrial development this year with the goal of building a world-class high-tech park.

Since first implementing industrial policy from 2014, the zone has invested 6.148 billion yuan ($878.92 million) in the cause, which has benefited more than 17,000 enterprises and helped spur industrial development.

This year, the new policies focus on optimizing the business environment, replacing old growth drivers with new ones, building new infrastructure, and developing fast-growing high-tech enterprises.

It will support the high-quality development of key industries such as manufacturing, high-tech services, integrated circuits, and artificial intelligence.

The policies are divided into six categories for supporting the implementation of major projects, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship, encouraging independent innovation, strengthening technology and financial services, supporting industrial development, and building a quality business environment.

Elements necessary for the development of an enterprise, including talent, capital, independent innovation, and a strong business environment, have all been taken into consideration. The zone government will offer awards and subsidies for setting up operations, rent, talent recruitment, fixed investment, R&D, brand development, and going public.

Other new measures include encouraging the development of the online economy and helping enterprises participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and expand internationally.

In addition, incentives will be introduced for the development of world-class manufacturing enterprises, promoting the coordinated development of industrial chains in the manufacturing industry and accelerating the development of new application scenarios.

To create an attractive living and working environment, the zone will introduce construction enterprises, carry out high-quality projects, encourage medical institutions to apply for international certification, and improve its cultural and sports service system.
