East China's Anhui province launched its annual innovation and entrepreneurship competition -- 2020 Chuangxiang China -- at a press conference on May 12.
The competition welcomes innovators and entrepreneurs in strategic emerging industries from around the world, including individuals, groups, and enterprises, and will provide 15 million yuan ($2.11 million) in awards to the winners.
The competition will consist of four divisions to be held in Anhui, the Yangtze River delta region, the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and Silicon Valley in the United States. The finals will be held in Hefei before the end of September.
According to the host of the competition, winners will be provided with policy support to help them develop their projects in the province and will also be recommended to investment institutions.
Over the past three years, 981 overseas projects have been submitted to the competition, 53 of which eventually were developed in the province and received financing support.
